Autumn in Colorado

I’ve visited Colorado a few times in my life and it’s one of my favorite places in the US.  I possess extreme jealousy for my friends that reside there, although I suppose you lose some appreciation for the area when you wake up in it on a daily basis.  The dramatic changes in elevation as well as the marked difference between the mountainous western part of the state and the relatively flat plains of the east make for exciting weather year round.

This picture comes from the Twitter and Instagram accounts of the Aspen/Snowmass winter resort.  Showers associated with a low pressure system moving through the Four Corners region brought snow to the highest elevations (above 10,000 feet) in the Rockies.  This will continue through tomorrow evening.  Combine the now snow-capped mountains with fall foliage and you get the beautiful scene above.
