Lake Effect Rocks Buffalo

In this day and age of Twitter, it’s really easy to find pictures where bad weather is occurring.  In the previous post, I ran a Google image-searched photo of whiteout conditions.  Now, comes this photo from Buffalo today:

You can see a little further in this picture, but not much.  It’s probably not a good day for driving around the Great Lakes region.  It is, however, a classic LES event.

Single LES bands are located over Lakes Erie and Ontario creating heavy snow in the area of Buffalo and Watertown, respectively.  Lakes Superior and Michigan are producing multiple, more widespread bands in the state of Michigan.  All areas are experiencing high winds and wind chill values near or below zero.
