Winter Storm Watches are in effect for parts of Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming regarding an early season storm making it’s way through the west this weekend. Moderate to heavy snowfall is expected in this region beginning tomorrow morning and continuing east through Monday. Snow levels are expected to drop to 4000 ft in some parts of Oregon and Idaho and the valley floors could experience some snow mixed in with rain.
The HPC winter weather outlook shows the chances for 4, 8, and 12 inches of snowfall. Keep in mind these outlooks are limited to elevations below 7500 ft.
The first graph is valid from Saturday night through Sunday night; the second from Sunday night through Monday night. Unfortunately, the winter weather products are not available at both times of the day they’re created (morning and evening). The morning outlook was a little more intense with snowfall and I’ll update this post if tomorrow morning’s outlook is dramatically different.
