Cooler, Autumn temperatures will begin to settle in across much of the US this week.  A cold Canadian air mass will drive southward over the next few days as a strong low pressure system makes its way through the Great Lakes and Northeast.  Meanwhile, a couple systems will move through the west and reinforce the initial blast of cooler air.  The Climate Prediction Center certainly believes the cool weather out west will into next week:

CPC 610

Temperatures should run near, or a little below, normal during the next few days across much of the northern 3/4 of the country. Obviously, the cold weather is expected to last in the intermountain west through the next 7-10 days. Might be time to start a fire or turn on the heat across the northern portion of the country. Welcome to Autumn!
