As of this post, I have yet to find a graphical display of the Old Farmer’s Almanac Winter outlook, but the reports from around the country indicate the almanac is predicting a cold, snowy (or wet) Winter across much of the CONUS (continental US, if you aren’t familiar).
Meanwhile, NOAA now forecasts the El Nino in the Pacific to continue to strengthen through Fall and the upcoming Winter. This would likely lead to a lot of warmer, drier weather in the eastern portion of the U.S. Preliminary forecasts from CPC call for such conditions this Winter. It seems a battle is brewing between the almanacs and NOAA.
