The transition from August to September will be a cold one in the Great Lakes and Northeast. A cold front that moved through the area over the weekend has brought Fall-like weather to the end of meteorological Summer. Temperatures may dip below freezing in the frost areas (obviously), but plenty of other locales will be well below normal come tomorrow morning. I’m not sure we’re looking at many record low temperatures, although there might be a few. Record lows were set last night in Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois.
Temperatures in this area should gradually warm through the week with sunny skies and pleasant, low-humidity conditions.
