Tropical Weather Outlook from 8AM EDT on Tuesday, August 25. Location marked "1" is likely to develop in the next 48 hours.

A tropical wave over the Atlantic (due North of the Virgin Islands) is likely to develop over the next 48 hours.  First, it would have to develop into a tropical depression before becoming a tropical storm and receiving the name Danny.  Conditions for development should improve over the next 24-48 hours as the wave continues on its’ westward track and away from an upper-level trough. A reconnaissance aircraft will investigate the storm this afternoon according to the NHC.  Something worth paying attention to if you’re in the Bahamas or southeast US.
