Ana Fades; Claudette Poised to Make Landfall

The NHC has downgraded Ana to a tropical depression and, with the exception of a brief strengthening in the northern Caribbean, does not forecast Ana to reintensify into at TS at any time in the forecast.

Meanwhile, the center of Claudette is still offshore in the Gulf of Mexico about 55 miles west of Apalachicola and 95 southeast of Pensacola.  It appears it will make landfall near Pensacola later tonight.  Claudette should dissipate over the next 48-72 hours after making landfall and moving through Alabama and Mississippi.  If you’re craving that tropical weather on-site report, The Weather Channel has you covered.  They got to spend that hurricane-budgeted money somehow!
