DATA FROM THE NOAA DOPPLER RADAR IN TALLAHASSEE FLORIDA INDICATE THAT SURFACE WINDS ASSOCIATED WITH THE DEPRESSION HAVE INCREASED TO 40 MPH…65 KM/HR…MAKING THE DEPRESSION TROPICAL STORM CLAUDETTE. DETAILS WILL FOLLOW IN THE 2 PM EDT INTERMEDIATE ADVISORY.
The NHC did forecast 60 mph winds by 8PM this evening. We’ll know if there are any changes to this at 2PM.
The majority of the rain shield is offshore, located east and south of the center. The center appears to be located due south of Apalachicola, FL.
